Welcome!

Latest and greatest news...

June, 2008...

You-tube video:  We've begun work on creating a video for the title song to my Damsel in Distress CD!  Mary Lewis, who did the photography and graphics for the CD, will shoot the video.  There will be a damsel (a.k.a me), and train tracks... there will be a "hero"... there will be a villain... what more could you ask for?!  I'll be sure to post when the video is up and running... the whole process is very exciting!

Recording:  I have started work on a new CD.  It's in the early stages right now, so not much to say at this point...

Performances:  I have been checking out some new venues, and am fortunate enough to have been included in several showcases this year... it's really fun to perform with friends new and old.  Please check my  Performances page for updates.

In addition to this website, please enjoy my MySpace page as well:
http://myspace.com/chicagosuefink .  You do NOT have to BE a MySpace member to visit... and you can listen to the tunes I have posted there (some brand new tunes, too), as well as click on the links to my myspace friends and hear their music.  My most up-to-date schedule is usually found on that page... I'm also adding the occasional "blog" entry there... a fun place to visit when you have a little time.

My song "The Saga of Pearl (It's Not You)" was selected as one of the Top Songs of the Year under "Local Anesthetic Best of 2006" by Richard Milne, host of the Local Anesthetic show, 93.1 WXRT!  Please click the music link if you are interested in hearing this, or other, songs... * Podcast *

I am one of the featured singer/songwriters on Steve Meier's Chicago Songwriter's PodcastEpisode 1 was Terry MacNamara; Episode 2 was Jeanne T. Arrigo; and now I'm Episode 3.  Steve, also a Chicago singer/songwriter,  interviews us on the songwriting process.  You may be interested to learn how different the process can be for different people.  We each play several songs as well as discuss what works for us, our influences, etc.  Check it out!  Also, I've put links to many of the people I mention in the podcast...

Previous Radio Play Includes:

  • WXRT's Local Anesthetic show (Richard Milne, host) -- "Saga of Pearl (It's Not You)" and 2007 Holiday Greeting special
  • WFMT's The Midnight Special (Rich Warren, host)
  • Wisconsin Public Radio
  • WDCB, Folk Festival show (Lilli Kuzma, host)
  • WNUR (Ron Lewis, host)
  • WORT (Sue Goldwomon, host -- plus live interview!)
  • ... and more...
  • And here's something cool:  You can request my songs online at the wonderful Whole Wheat Radio station.  I love these guys... it's an on-line station in Alaska, they play a great selection of music, and they do NOT bug you, or spam you, in any way.  You can sign in and request songs, or just listen.  I would NOT be adverse to having my songs requested...  ;-)
